Hi extreme newbie and apologies if this is posted in wrong area. I did search for help but couldn't find anything. I have just brought a RME chassis that has no registration plates with it I have located the chassis number and was wondering if there's anyway of obtaining the original registration number using the chassis number. I tried hpi check etc to see if it had been stollen etc but due to vin length the hpi checker doesn't like it. So I was talking to a friend of mine David Richards who project manages car sos and he pointed me towards this forum to get in touch with the registration specialist before I contact the dvla (was very certain about that) to see if he or she could help me in anyway. Other than that if anyone has any advise or re registeration process, do's, don'ts etc or past experiences with the same problem I'm currently having that would also be extremely helpful. Many thanks and apologies again if in the wrong part of forum. Seann

Sean, good luck with your endeavours. From the Riley Motor Club I can't help you but hopefully someone else might, but there's a Facebook group called "Enthusiasts of British Motor Vehicles built before 1985" that has just over 23,000 members and I'm sure this subject has come up on there before. If you search the site you may find it or post a new thread and I'm sure someone on there will have gone down the path you're about to embark upon and give you the benefit of their experiences.

Hi Sean. I suggest you try the Riley RM Club. They keep a very comprehensive register of all known RM Rileys. Go to: www.rileyrmclub.org.ukthen contact the general Secretary directly. Good luck. G

Sean, I've spoken to Gordon Webster. His email address is vigorweb@aol.com Just give him the model and chassis number and although he is no longer the archivist he will pass your request to the present archivist. good luck! Sprite 124
