Anyone know what might be causing the smell of petrol inside the car after I have filled up. It’s been like it since I have owned the car over the last 6 months. She doesn’t leak any fuel doesn’t run rich, she drives beautifully (just come back from a 500 mile trip faultless never missed a beat) and returns seemingly excellent mpg. Still when I fill up the smell gets on my nerves

Probably a 'bad' filler hose in the boot. My car does become odoriferous after a fuel up but clears out within a kilometer or two. I still have the OE hose, no leaks anywhere, I suspect the hose 'bleeds' a tad.
If I knew where to buy a correct hose I would swap my OE one for new.

Thanks for that like you the hose looks good and doesn’t leak but when you think about it it is nearly 60 years old.

Found it! It is the fuel filler hose I have had a good look today with a torch and it is perished, not leaking surprisingly but certainly braking up
