Hi All.
1965 riley 1.5, we have a few fuel related issues and would like to renew some parts.
I have sourced most of what we need but need some guidance on a couple of parts.
Fuel tank, leaks when over half full so we will be removing to see what the issue is.
If the one we have is beyond saving is there a new option out that that can be purchased off the shelf?
Im also struggling to locate the gasket for the top of the float chamber on the twin Carbs, does anyone have a link to the correct part (perhaps ebay?).
Thanks in advance.

Hi If the Riley Motor Club can't help, try Burlen Fuel Systems part number AUC1414 for float chambers that are between the carbs or AUC1147 for Float Chambers that are on the outside of the carburettors ie very early 1.5's.As far as I am aware you could have an aluminum one made from scratch as replacements are not available new only used ones on ebay etc but the best way is to have it repaired by a specialist this should keep the cost down.
Regards NP

It looks like a fairly standard flat "o" shape but would prefer to get the right one first time if possible.

carb parts :- the austin healey sprite Mk1 uses the same float chambers and float chamber tops.. gaskets are avail from Moss Motors as well as burlen fuel systems.. fuel tank leak.. most common source of leaks when above 1/2 tank is the fun gauge sender gaskets.. originally they were cork.. and hard to seal due to the fact that petrol will soften most standard gasket sealers.. there are replacement seals readily available in viton.. again, moss motors keep them..if you get one for an MGA or early sprite its the same part.. as regards carbs.. if you have rhd car you can swap out the whole set up from an early MGB (you need carbs, inlet manifold, linkages and heat shield ) and save lot of future hassles.. these use the SU 'HS4' instead of the H4, which was an obsolete carb which was replaced by HS on almost ALL BMC cars by 62 model year.. the SU 'H' carbs have cork to seal the sliding jet assy.. and invariably leak or stick up over time..

Brilliant info thank you. Ive ordered what i beleive to be the correct carb gasket and will investigate the tank when removed.
