Well its being sold by a dealer - so they always add on the ££££s. Its a well known car - but interior isn't great and I would have thought 8,000 was tops for that! Roger

This car used to belong to my brother, he owned it twice he liked it that much. I wanted to buy it first time it came for sale but I couldn't afford it then even at family rates as I was already committed to my own 1.5. It is a really nice car though. It was subject of an excellent restoration some years ago and comes with masses of paperwork and history if I remember rightly. There were some things that needed doing, the interior wasn't as good as the body work but I liked it, (pattinered is the buzz phrase I think). It sounded and went fab with the mods that had been done but outwardly looked standard. I spoke to him the other night about it and he was shocked at its current price as he sold it for considerably less than that only 18 months ago or so. There is also the other blue and white Mk 3 about that is up for £16,000 or so! but I have seen that car and its modifications are more outwardly obvious. Its an awful lot of money but maybe its the way these things are going ,they have been underrated for soooo long, they are so much rarer than the likes of the Austin A35's which are ramping up in price since the HRDC race series.

The car is excellent but as usual a Dealer is flying a kite to see who he can attract and get as much as he can no surprises really. While these vehicles remain under rated values will remain low rarity is no guarantee of value.

An apparently MK 1 car with a MK 2 dash? Nice paint job though! Door & wing spears would set it off quite nicely B
