Can any learned members please let me know if the 1.5 wiper motor and exhaust manifold are common to Series 1,2 and 3. I am looking for both a wiper motor and exhaust manifold for my 1964 Series 3. Any information would be appreciated. Thank you. Dave Dale.

Hello Dave, The windscreen wiper motor is ubiquitous throughout and with many contemporary model cars. This is a 12v Lucas DR3a single speed motor. Caveat; the electrical connections may vary , either wire pigtails, male spade terminals or screw terminals as I show below. The one below is a OE Riley installation. The exhaust manifold as well fits all the Riley one-point-five model years. The gasket to the cylinder head is a common part used on any 1500, 1600 or 1800 B series engine. The same early style crazy clamp that is a bugg*r to install is used. click on pictures to enlarge Salut Bruce

Many thanks Bruce. Just the information that I needed. Your reply confirms the veracity of the old saying - "When in doubt - ask an expert". Much appreciated. My next step is to find the items. Dave.

Hello Dave I appreciate your "When in doubt - ask an expert" comment but trust me I am learning just like you. You just lucked out with the question. There is a chap breaking a Riley one-point-five that he has listed on eBay. It has been there quite a while, I include the link below. www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1964-Riley-1-5-rolling-chassis-Spares-repair-or-break-Nelson-S-Wales-Wolseley/193489016026?hash=item2d0cd814da:g:PogAAOSwj39dwHjoPeruse the photos, he shows a ratty looking engine bay but does have the wiper motor in place and visible. This will have the correct electrical connections. Perhaps make him an offer? Ask for the wiper arms as well. It appeasers he ripped out the motor but may still have the exhaust manifold kicking about. In the interest of 'one stop shopping' I think this worth a punt. All the best with your shopping Bruce

All the best with your shopping Bruce I have bought an exhaust manifold and a non-functional wiper motor from the vendor. The wiper motor could be useful, even if it can't be repaired, as the gearing is correct for the sweep and self-park position, having come from a Riley 1.5. Your brilliant suggestion enabled this Bruce. Much appreciated. Dave Dale.
