I have looked through the threads, but cannot find one to help. I am at the finishing stage, but really struggling to fit the door window channels in such a way that the windows actually close!! The screw holes are easy to find - before fitting the channel, but almost impossible thereafter. Drilling new holes is of course an option. Also, I am amazed to discover that the quarter light is only secured with the rubber and the window channel which, of course slides into the quarter light chrome strip - from the bottom I have discovered.
I measured the placing of the clips on the bottom of the channels and also the small right angles clip on the top of the front channel, but once refitted, the windows simply don't want to slide up and down - especially near the top.
Channels and weather strips came from Dave at Longbridge spares, maybe the are a bit too new for things to slide easily . Tried both silicone spray and WD40 with no real improvement
Any help/guidance would be appreciated - the car is in the sin bin at present until i work out how to move forward!!!
Just as encouragement to others, I have tried ( unsuccesfully) to attach a photo showing the car when I was in the process of replacing the floor panel.- can anyone give me an idea how to do this in the future ?

I have fairly recently fitted the the door channels and the window weather strips. It is a struggle, I fitted the wrong type of securing clip at first which allowed the strip to sit at an angle instead of being parallel to the door frame which nipped the window making it difficult to wind up or down I can't remember the part number of the clip but it is in one of my previous posts. Secondly the quarter window is free to move in and out on its rubber even if you are using the old one there is plenty of movement so before you fit the door channel rubber or the side channels you need to mark with a pen on the side of the door frame so it is then obvious where the holes are in the door frame it is then easy to locate them when fitting the stainless countersunk screws but before you fit the felt channel it is important to ensure that the top bracket of the window channel adjacent to the quarter light is aligned up with the hole in the door frame and then use a bradawl or something similar to make a hole through the felt channel and into the hole for securing the window channel into the door frame when you have that screw in place work back from there inserting the screws in the holes you make using the marks on the door frame for guidance. You must make sure that if you are fitting a new quarter rubber that the window channel that fits to this is far enough toward the door frame before securing its bracket to the top of the door frame otherwise the window will be nipped near to the top of its travel and will not shut fully. If necessary do drill a new hole but try to use the others if possible. the jobs are a pain but are doable. NP
If I am making no sense then PM me and we can chat on the phone if necessary.
