Hello friends,
New to the forum. My car and I are in Washington state, USA. In the process of redoing brakes and have discovered that one drum (rear right) has a groove in it, and metal on metal pads. The register spares group do not have any new or used drums, sadly.
My questions are:
1. Does any other car share the Girling brakes on the One Point Five? Is exchange the only way to get new pads?
2. Are the drums the same as any other car? Someone suggested that Minor rear drums are the same, but I don't think this is the case.
Thanks in advance for your help.

The rear brake drums are unique to the Riley one point five as far as I am aware but certain glass fibre vehicles manufactured in the UK from the 1960's were fitted with Riley running gear so these and the one point five will be the only source of used parts although I am sure that fellow enthusiast in North America will be able to help in your search. You could ask a local engineering business about the possibility of manufacturing a sleeve to fit into the casting to take the drum back to the standard diameter? However they may advise against this action on safety grounds. Sorry I could not be of more assistance.

Hello Gingerly
I wad able to track down some drums & linings a great many years ago.
I believe that a 1970's (about) MG Midget rear drums & linings fit? Perhaps a local supplier has some that you can compare to?
Best of luck
Bruce

As it turns out the club has come through with 2 new rear drums! Apparently there is zero availability for the fronts, so treat them gently and check your pads often! I am going to see if 70's Midget drums bear any resemblance... it would be great to us all to have some options.
I see that brake pads are also becoming scarce. I wonder what it would take to get a couple hundred sets manufactured?

IF YOU DON'T WANT TO USE ANG CLASSIC,TRY MORRIS 1000 FRONT DRUMS.

I think the Girling brakes are wider than the Morris' Lockheed parts, aren't they?
