I got the inner wing strengthening rails as well and the two front cross-member pieces - the type of thing I could never reproduce in the garage. The spit is a fantastic piece of kit - I would never have done the job without it. I reckon I'm also too old to go crawling underneath cars as much these days. What is the other car?

It's a Mk2 Escort bodyshell, being prepared as a rally car. I'm not sure I've sufficient energy left to see it through, even when all the fabrication is complete. A reassessment will be made when the Riley's done!

Hi Bruce
You are quite right - David Kingerley bought Earlpart, including the fabricator.
You need the inner sill (centre) Part No: BP5085 x 2. The other inner sill repair panels are not very useful as they are only the upper part of the inner sills, whereas it is the lower portions that rot. It wasn't difficult to make new ones myself.
Cheers

NP Hello Nigel, I am not having any joy with contacting this chap. Two different emails have gone unanswered. May I ask you to metaphorically 'knock on his door' to check if he received my emails or whatever? Thanks in advance Bruce PS: I ultimately want to order & receive quantity 2, #BP5085 inner sill for my MK1 Riley one-point-five

Hi Bruce,
For what it's worth (my opinion that is) I have found this guy slightly difficult to deal with in the past. The inner sills are quite simple in construction, basically flat & square. A good fabricator should have no problem re-creating them.
Cheers, Jeff

I appreciate the advice Jeff. My thinking was/is that the flange on the holes acted as stiffening section for this flat panel. I suspect that a fabricator could easily add a few corrugations to the panel to achieve the same.
Thanks again
B.

So you chaps have kept me entertained enough, so let me join in. 'George' is finally admitted to the hospital and immediately is spending time in intensive care unit. The diagnosis he will be there a while. First off let me publicly thank Nigel P for procuring and sending me the inner sill vertical parts for me. These should make re assembly straightforward. I am fortunate to have full length factory sills so again aligning with 'accurate' parts should be 'reliable'? After surgery it is evident that the sills, inner & outer and the bottom of the A post are totally buggered. The box section behind it also need some attention. Not much appears to be a straight line in this area so some 'tricky' fabricating will need to be done. A little bit of the floor pan is frilly but not a worry Dry fit of the inner 'holey' vertical bit. I will add some more as progress is made. Bruce

Nice work Bruce but as you say plenty more to do, how did you manage to get some NOS sills? Bonne chance, mon ami.

Nice work Bruce but as you say plenty more to do, how did you manage to get some NOS sills? Bonne chance, mon ami. NP Thanks again Nigel, When I first got George he was in need of loving. He was so much fun to drive about I spent my time searching bits that I would eventually need to put him right. Scouring eBay UK turned up these sills about 7 years ago, as would have it I won the auction and considered myself lucky. The parts still had factory stickers on them. Fast forward all these years here we are with grinder & drills doing the work. For those of us that have been there, I need some insight for the base of the A post. How many 'layers' of metal is there before we can access the box section hidden behind it? More to follow so stay tuned. Bruce

Hi Bruce Welcome to the worldd of pain! My A posts were completely buggered ar the lower ends as well. I've managed to rebuild them and have some photos of the right side. I can't seem to reduce the file size at the moment, so I'll attach two here and the other two afterwards. Tony
