I am going to be a nuisance - the more I try to do the more questions I have to raise showing my lack of knowledge.
Today I want to get at the door locking system and tried to follow the instructions in my B M C Workshop Manual.
This says to push the inner escutcheon in to reveal a pin to remove and free the handle. However, my escutcheons are spring loaded into the door trim (not away from it) and can with difficulty be pulled out to show the spindle but I cannot see how to go any further and I needed both hands to pull it out anyway.
This could be a later mod perhaps and I hope that someone might know how I can continue and get the handle off without damaging anything please?

You need a flat bladed screwdriver or a door trim clip removal tool to push the spring loaded trim inn towards the door to uncover the retaining pin so that it can be pushed out as per the pics. Hope this helps? NP

Thank you - I now see what I was doing wrong, trying to push the outer ring rather than the inner ring. I have just done it correctly and my face is red!

Nigel Bravo!! That is a great tutorial you show, pictures are better than a 1000 words! royThe only 'nuisance' question is the one not asked and when all h*ll breaks loose. B
