Hi,I am a new member to the forum and have been offered a Riley one point five which the owner claims was manufactured and first registered in 1957,but when I check the reg number (932PMH) on DVLA site it is listed as manufactured in 1958.The seller apparently can’t find the v5,and won’t allow me to check the chassis number,so I was wondering if anybody here can help me find out if it genuinely is a 1957 car.The reason it matters so much is that the local car club of which I am a member has a strict regulation that only cars first registered on or before 31st December 1957 are eligible to participate in club events and I would like to be certain before buying. Thanks in anticipation, and hopefully if I buy it I can use this forum a lot more in the future.

The DVLA show the car as registered in 1993, which is presumably when it was added to their database. My gut instinct would be to walk away from a car if the owner won't allow you to check the chassis number - it is not an unreasonable request. Rob

The last V5C was issued on 20th April this year so the seller has mislaid it rather quickly. The DVLA tax checker site lists it as 1958 manufacture. I agree with Rob; if the seller won’t provide the details you rightly want to check, walk away.

The below snap is taken from the Club registry. Perhaps follow up with Roger Flatt? B

Bruce, how can I access these details to see if any of mine are listed? Cheers Hello Mike For these one-point-five model the RMC has a registrar and he works mega diligently to capture information on all of the cars he can. I don't have a recent version of this register but you can request information on your cars I should think. The registrar name is Roger Flatt and his handle on the forum is Noddy. He used to participate quite a bit on this forum but life & times keeps him away these days. I would think a PM to him will serve you well Bruce
