Hello Bruce
Thanks for the response and info therein.
I don’t drive the car much but agree with you in that I also think the Nankangs are are on the soft side. I’ve been looking at Falken Sincera SN832 165/80-14and think they may do the job. Not too badly priced either. I need to get something sorted soon as I don’t like driving on tyres that are cracked and possibly forty years old, but I have too many projects and not enough time. I’m sure I’m not alone in that respect!
I had seen you are replacing your brakes, I hope it works well for you.
Cheers Gordon

Gordon, That Falken™ tyre may well do the job for you, and looks a modern tyre. I think a 165 size on the 4.5" wide rim is a nice fit. Pay attention to the fit at the tie rod for end clearance. Some tyres can rub depending on the tie rod end fitted. If the case a 1/4" thick spacer can solve this.
FWIW the Blockley™ tyre website suggest a 145 size for the Riley. Weird or they are out of touch.

Hi Bruce
Thanks for the heads-up on the tie rod clearance. If I think it’s going to be an issue then I may just stick with the 155 Nankangs. As I say, I don’t drive the car much or very far so performance is not a big deal, I just want it to be safe.
Cheers Gordon
