Hi all, I have been looking on the internet for quite some time searching for a couple of chrome strips for my 1959 Mk I. I need the following if anyone can help.
Front offside wing Riley badge (I have the One Point Five part). Long Chrome Boot Lid Trim Strip. Front nearside Door Trim Strip (I have the half Spear) One Front Sidelight Bezel.
If I cannot locate these items, I may have to consider leaving the chrome off of the complete vehicle restoration which hopefully is approaching the paint phase. This would mean having all of the fixing holes filled. Please, please can someone out there assist these parts or point me in the right direction of where i can obtain them.
Many thanks.

Hello John, These miscellaneous bits tend to be elusive. Be aware that MK 1 cars had different scripts. The earlier cars wear a much finer script, (LH) than the later ones (RH). I show a comparison below, both MK 1 cars my one and a friends one. As John wrote, try the club spares . These are a very helpful bunch. You may elect to do as I have and regularly consult eBay UK site? Ask their search engine Riley 1.5 and often you will come across a chap that is breaking a car. This can be time consuming but will bear fruit. Be patient. All the best Bruce

A quick trim related question for Rileyrob?
Among your Ebay listings is a chrome hockey stick trim for the for the front grille for Mk1 and Mk2s. What is the difference between the Mk3 ones?
Asking because I am missing them and will be looking for them in the near future.
Thanks
Scott

Mk1 and Mk2 trims are about 20mm longer on the short bend of the trim because the main chrome trim on the Mk3 is wider. I made this mistake some time ago when purchasing used items and indeed I saw a very well restored Mk1/2 on Practical Classics some years ago with Mk3 trims fitted and showing the gap between the trims which was clearly wrong but no one appeared too concerned at the time. Hope this info is of some help?

Exactly so
As this is personal taste thing if you can only get Mk3 trims it is up to you if you wish to wait until Mk1 trims show up in the future?

Thanks guys. That is helpful. My car is a Mk3 but not having any 1.5's locally to look over I may be asking a few similar questions as I work through it.

Hi Scott
I see other members have helped with your query - I did send you a personal message earlier today - have a look at it and get back to me.
Cheers

I suspect that the complete front trim section beside the grille is different between the MK 1/2 and MK 3 models?. salut Bruce
