Do you know what thread the sender unit threads are BA or something similar? My personal opinion is that they are the same as the early Mini. Hello Nigel, I believe I have been able to determine that the sender to tank screws are in fact 3BA as suspected. The new screws I received are definitely 8-32 (a nut winds on ) and will thread into the tank threads although with a tad of resistance, like to a dirty thread. A 8-32 nut does spin onto the OE 3BA screw but is 'loose'. The screw, the above allowing for my crappy quality and un calibrated vernier . A 8-32 machine screw measures 0.164" major diameter so the resistance, (0.003") threading into the tank flange makes sense. I recognize the thread pitch is different as well. I also think using the cork style gasket where the screw holes fit snug around the screws is a better option than the rubber gasket that has larger holes for the screws. Less chance of leak around the screw threads? Bottom line, I think if one were to run a 8-32 tap through the female threads in the tank to clean them up, then this OE 3BA screw would now be too loose and ultinmteley leak. If the case best to continue on with the 8-32 screw. Installer be aware I guess. I will reuse my OE 3BA screws and a cork gasket. Salut Bruce

Thanks for the info Bruce.
I will take it onboard when I remove my tank. FYI my Vernier is exactly the same as yours so no worries on that score.
