I have been having trouble with the mechanical AC fuel pump on my 1954 RME. I have taken it off a couple of times, cleaned and serviced it, then checked it using the priming lever and it works fine, but as soon as I refit it and turn the engine over the fuel hardly dribbles out! I suspect that the rocker arm contact face may be worn from running on the cam. Mine is concave when viewed from the side but looking at the manual it looks as though it should be flat. Does anybody know for sure? If it is worn I can get it hard faced and refit it again!
I have now replaced the rocker arm on the pump with another one and everything appears to be working as it should now!
