RILEY 4/72 1964 2 OWNERS, 23,000 MILES
£9,995 - As stated
Description
First registered on 17.06.1964, this very rare and superb RILEY 4/SEVENTY TWO Manual, is finished in original colours Riley/ BMC two-tone Arianca Beige/Sandy Beige with unrestored original mushroom leather interior together with the luxury polished walnut dashboard and door cappings. The current mileage is 23,285, yes 23,285, which is fully accepted as genuine given the overall internal/external condition and known history of the car. MOT July 2017. A history folded is included together with Drivers' Guides, Workshop Manual and Showroom Brochures.
The car was originally purchased in Bristol June 1964 and remained with the first owner until April 2011. It was then purchased by a club friend of mine who began a full detailed restoration/recommissioning as it had been dry stored for many years. This work has maintained the overall originality of the car whilst replacing and recommissioning all parts where necessary.
The car is extremely solid and is not at all damaged in any of the usual (underneath) areas. The door fit is totally solid/ true and the underneath is quite honestly unbelievable....it shines! The detailed engine bay is also very clean and tidy. The drive is strong and thrusty with the "full blooded thrust of power from the twin carbs" (original advertisement)
I bought the Riley from the club friend in October 2016 to finish off the recommissioning work he had started and to add to my collection. However another opportunity has emerged and I would like to sell the car to a true enthusiast who will be able to enjoy such a unique and remarkable one-off opportunity
For any BMC enthusiast or indeed Riley Club Member, this top of the range A60 model from BMC is a true/ genuine survivor and one of the best, if not the best, available today. She is ready to enjoy for this coming show season. In my view, probably unrepeatable in this condition/mileage at any price....?
I am retired , so viewing can be easily arranged. I live in Somerset just off the A303 near Yeovil. I am able to meet you if travelling by train/plane and very happy to deliver the car free of charge! (just petrol money and return fare would be appreciated). Please do not hesitate to call me for any more information and pictures as required.
