1963 Riley 1.5 Competition Car
Welcome to a very special Riley 1.5 (reg NMM 704) competition car which I have been preparing for competition during the last 24 months. I bought NMM 704 two years ago which was a very original 1963 Riley 1.5 in perfect condition with exceptional history (even has the original buff log book) and fully documented restoration and maintenance history. With such a good basis I embarked on a mission to prepare this Riley with HRDC 1600cc competition regulations in mind so the car doesn’t detract from period but under the skin exhibits considerable racing and performance enhancements. Although HRDC was in mind my immediate goal was to enhance the car and gain experience through sprints and hill climbs. All racing & performance enhancements are sympathetic to the period albeit using modern components/materials and I provide all original components to allow the car to retain its originality once again in the future if desired. All the work carried out on this car is fully documented and I make reference to and include period documentation to ensure the car is in keeping with its period despite significant enhancements.
Please note car is now fully prepared with a newly rebuilt engine and gearbox and pretty much all components on the car are brand new.
The car in its original state would have a value of 9K given the current market for excellent cars and the total build cost of this car given the high end motorsport components described below is well over that figure and I can provide a breakdown of costs involved. Please also keep in mind that all modification have been sympathetic to originality and all original components are provided with this package.
