I have just bought another Riley 1.5, as in the title. Does anyone know anything about this car, I believe it has belonged to a club member in the past. The car is on the road and MOT'd and very nice condition but there is very little history and no MOT history which suggests it hasn't been MOT'd for over 10 years.
The car is really nice condition so clearly been looked after. It has been repainted in an off shade of red (little brighter) which is actually a nicer colour in my mind than the darker Damsk red so it would be nice to know the new colour and have the door shuts etc painted to match.
I wonder if its been off the road in a collection or museum etc. Would be nice to build up some knowledge of the car.

I'm afraid I dont have a record of it in the register! so a bit of a mystery. Do you have the chassis number? send me a PM with it and I will see if it is recorded with a different reg number. Roger

It's not this one is it by any chance, very similar reg and looks a bit brighter in colour to standard Damask Red and I know it was up for sale fairly recently? Attachments:

No probs thanks for looking. The car at the moment has the brown and cream interior but with red carpets and red fur flex around the door. They look old and original but I always thought the carpets matched the interior so should be brown anyone confirm this or did they sometimes have different coloured carpets

Here are some photos of a similar car to yours which show red carpets and red furflex. I think it depends on the body colour as I also have photos of a black and a Cumberland Green car with the same seats as yours but with brown carpets and brown furflex. Hope that helps. Rob

I'm not back in the UK for a couple of weeks but in one of my Riley folders I'm sure I've got a list of colours relating to car body colour(s), seats and possibly carpets and the combinations used. I'll know more in a few weeks time. I'll post something then.

I knew I had it somewhere. Here's the data that was put together a few years ago showing body colours and associated colours for seats, seat piping, door liners, headlining, door seals and carpets/mats. Hope this is of some help. Shades of 1.5.pdf (627.41 KB)

Thanks for that it seems from your list it should be red carpets though I had already gone with the brown shame to have gone away from the originality but I think it will look nice having had the brown in a previous black 1.5
