I am just beginning to restore a 1964 1500. This is by combining parts and panels from to cars - DUJ144B and AYD 976B. These cars were produced around the same time. I have already been told by Roger that AYD976B has some interest from the club in that it was originally owned by Lord Monson who promoted the non use of seat belts !!
My question is that the front suspension is different on the two cars even though they were relatively close together on the production line . One car has turrets and bump stops on the front suspension and the other does not .
Does anyone have any thoughts on when/why they changed over ?

Tom, There should be no difference between the two cars suspension - as far as I am aware there was no change at all during the Mk 3 production run. It looks like one car has been modified in the past ... perhaps to accommodate coils and shocks? Roger
