FOR SALE
Riley 2.5 (Project).
This is a rolling chassis, which has had most removable parts taken off and restored.
The original owner had commenced the restoration, completely dismantling the car, with the intention of bringing it up to Concours standard. Unfortunately, his poor health forced him to stop the work, and he sadly passed away before his project was anywhere near to complete.
We purchased the car, hoping to be able to restore the 2.5 to its potential, but we have had no time to work on it, and do not want it to just fade away.
The project comprises the following items:
1. The rolling chassis, in a fair state of repair. The roof, strangely, has been cut off, and sits loose on the chassis. It requires re-attaching, and work on the outer surface.
2. The engine is separate, and needs rebuilding.
3. Chrome items, interior woodwork, seats and door cards have all been restored to a very high standard.
4. Wings have been repainted: 3 finished, and one requiring gloss coat.
We have no way of knowing how "complete" this package is, but there are many, many items, and I have photographed just a few of them to give a taste of the quality of the work done to date. A file of past invoices also exists.
We are advertising this project through the Riley Club initially, so that people who are true enthusiasts may have the first opportunity to buy. If there is no interest shown then we will advertise in the usual classic car platforms. We hope to achieve a price in the region of £5,000 but will not be offended by lower offers. Inspection is, of course, welcomed.
Sadly all my photos are too many Mb to fit on this page, but if you are interested, make contact and we will send a file.
