Hi
I bought a 1.5 a few years back, but have been slow in stripping it for complete restoration. I've viewed the forum regularly but had nothing really to contribute or ask, but I suspect that is about to change!
I'm down to the bare shell and removing the knackered front wings to assess the full horrors beneath. The door hinge pins on the n/s front are very worn and need replacing. Any ideas on how to remove them short of grinding off the heads and letting them fall out of the bottom?

Hello Tony My hinges were in good shape thankfully and required little attention. I believe these pins are a part integral to the hinge? You may be better off sourcing complete hinges. If you do keep in mind that these hinges are location specific. FWIW I struggled more with the check link, and I sort of mucked it up. Salut Bruce

Hi Bruce
Thanks for the reply. However a previous owner/bodger has welded the hinges to the A posts - at least realigning replaced doors won't be a problem. I could break the welds, but I notice that the right side front hinges have had the pins replaced (different shaped head) so I'm still assuming they can be removed. As far as I recollect, pins were often peened over at the bottom at the factory to stop them lifting, but again I'm loathe to take an angle grinder to the bottom of the pin to remove the peened over bit and then find I still cannot shift them.
By the way, your left side A post, closing panel and inner wing look a whole lot better than mine!
Tony
