Anyone ever have their window winder handle fall to bits? If so do one just press the knob back onto the pin? Thanks in advance Bruce

From MM experience, never seen that before. Will be interested to hear your conclusions.

On the passenger side my wife constantly has to put the constituent elements back together as we're out and about. I need to find out why it happens. That's the side I had the bad accident on back in 2014 so it could be related. I'm sure in a box of bits I've got spares so will have to see what I can do. For the base I'm thinking broken, weak spring behind the cover or a worn loose fixing pin and for the top part, just worn parts. Mind you I can't see how they magically stay together anyway. It's devil's magic!

This winder handle knob fell apart in the hands of an over enthusiastic young nephew who thinks wind up windows are so much more fun than simply flicking the button of an electric type. The pin appears to be a simple interference press fit to the knob. I carefully assembled it and pressed the lot together gently in a bench vice. If it falls to bits again I will have a closer look. @ Graham, you may want to experiment with some 'epoxi' adhesive on the tip of the pin next time you assemble this? Salut Bruce
