I have been sorting a charging issue and finally changed out my control box. All is now working as should. Through this troubleshooting chain of events I renewed the battery, it was due, and installed new brushes in the dynamo.
The bared ends of the wire is simply pushed under the respective grub screw of te control box buss bar. FWIW this is secure and I have never suffered any loosening or whatever but this just seem a tad DIY.
So a question; Have any of you used a 'better' means of attaching the wires to the grub screws? maybe a readily available crimp terminal for the wire ends that would fit under the grub screw?
TIA
Salut

An easy way is to solder the ends of the wires it saves using terminals and the solder does not give much so is less likely to come loose and will also give a good connection much better than loose wires as used by the factory. Hope this is of some assistance?

Thanks Nigel, I decided on a 'hybrid' solution. With the single wire connections I used a terminal, and on the control box screw terminals with double wires I tinned the wire ends. Seems to have cleaned things up quite a bit. Should be good to go for another +60 years. salut Bruce
