Hello folks. New member here. I live in Canada and am starting down the rabbit hole of getting a 1.5 on the road. MY father's first car after he and mom got married was a 62. Of all the cars he's owned..the 1.5 was the one he always talked about. About 21 years ago he found one for sale locally and bought it. It was in good shape except the original owner had drove it in to the back of a logging truck. 2 years later he found another one in alberta, drove out, bought it and towed it home. He did some work on the one that was smashed up with the alberta car for parts. Well that was as far as he got and 23 years later I decided that he was never going to finish it. He is 80 years old and I want to get one running before he can't drive anymore. The plan is do dig out the alberta car as it was a runner, assemble it completely, assess what needs to be done then strip it down and get the body and paint done. I'm not aiming for a concourse restoration. I want to get it road legal and safe. This is the current state of the alberta car. the other one is buried in front of it.. Wish me luck. lol Attachments:

![]() Thought I would post an update. Sadly despite the best of intentions dad and I never managed to get any work done to the cars. We lost him last March and as of now I'm not sure what will happen to the 1.5's. I want to get one on the road to finish dad's dream and honor him. I don't know if that will be possible but I'm hoping it will. The cars are still buried in his garage along with many NOS parts he and I traveled to Niagara Falls Ont to buy from a retired riley mechanic. My sister found these pics of the cars dad took when he was switching the front clip from the blue one to the red one. The red one is in much better shape but is the car that hit the logging truck. It had a one piece fiber glass front clip on it which I'm assuming he kept. The blue one has rust on it but from what I looked at isn't beyond repair.

good luck restoring one or both, i dont know how easily parts are available in north america ? if everything is there (just old) will make the job a bit easier i guess, the joy of these i find is they are a really simple motor that were well built & can be put back / maintained by anyone who can hold a spanner good luck

Hello 86iroc, very sorry to hear about you losing your Dad and hope you can get one of the cars going in his memory. Bruce is the knowledgeable guy who lives in Canada and he is very helpful. His user name here is Canuck and you will find lots of his posts in the 1.5 section. Good luck, Jonathan
