Well, the DVLA's enquiry site is a pretty good place to start as well. According to their service, the car IS still about, and is probably in use somewhere, as it's 'tax' needs renewing next month. After that, find your way to the Riley Register, and ask the Registrar to put you in touch with the owner. Most pre-war Riley owners will be members.

If you enter UY9178 on Google, you will see that the car has just been sold fror the second time in a short while. There are photos attached. This may give you a lead.

www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C544666Probably the most original Weyman bodied “9” Monaco in the world, the car has a fascinating history, one lady owner, chauffer driven, from December 1930 until 1962. The car is almost entirely original and has only done a little over 107,000 miles from new. The interior is original apart from the front seat cushions, it is patinated, not tatty, with a sunshine roof, discreet modern indicators and a first class dynamo. It drives really beautifully with recent overhaul of front brakes/axle and springs. Radiator overhauled, coil conversion fitted and a single centrally positioned SU carburettor. £17500 ono I am selling this car, which is in Hitchin, on behalf of a friend to whom I sold it last year but is now is in poor health. Please 'phone me if you wish to know more about it.
