Just spotted this car - with a starring role on "Antiques Road Trip" (BBC2) Weds 6th Jan ...
Looks quite nice from a distance - but interior is wrong - with some non-period rally fittings! Not sure about the lower colour on the car - it looks green to me, and not a factory green?
Anyway, car got quite a lot of air time, including some interior shots. Its not in the register - so in it goes - anyone know who owns it?

Roger Nice to find another wayward Riley, and as you say it looks tidy enough. Can't help you with locating the owner. Perhaps contact the TV station/producer? these guys have all manner of history and archive everything. So was this car being featured as a 'found antique, how much is it worth' sort of item.

Bruce,
FYI - "Antiques Road trip" is a typically quaint British programme. A couple of antiques experts go around buying antiques on a budget and then try and sell them at auction for a profit - the winner is the one with most profit.
To spice things up they invite along a couple of 'celebrities' and throw in a couple of interesting classic cars for them to drive round in!
All very English and harmless fun!

Roger Thanks for that explanation. There is a television show that airs over here, I think originates in the UK, called Antiques Road Show. This is what I was thinking of. The type of show you describe resembles a USA reality? show, American Pickers. I think I like what you describe somewhat better. Does that neat number plate allow you to geographically place the Riley?

B The XO part of the dateless plate would place the car originally in London. Obviously nothing to say it's still in that area though.

You can also date it - to within a bit ...
CXO would have been registered between July 1961 and March 1962 !
