From: Nick Flowers <mutty@chilgrove.net> Subject: Question about a possible Riley Falcon
Hello there, My first car, bought when I was 17 in 1964, was a Riley. It had an Armstrong Siddley pre-selector gearbox and a four cylinder engine, single carburettor. I was told that it was a 1936 model and for all these years I have thought that it was a Riley Falcon. But recent research has made me think that it might have been an Adelphi. Alas, I sold it many years ago, and I wish that I hadn't - I don't even have any photos of it. But I wonder if, from what I have told you, is it possible for you to tell me whether it was a Falcon or an Adelphi? Thanks you very much indeed, Nick Flowers.

Hi Nick, Both models, Falcon and Adelphi, fit the description of your car. The main difference is that the Adelphi was a big, very roomy saloon. The Falcon was still a four door saloon, but with a smaller body and perhaps more sporty looking. Only the registration number would help to provide a more definitive answer. Regards, Rob

Sorry to add fuel to the fire, but by that description it could have been a Falcon, Adelphi, Kestrel, Merlin or Monaco!
