OK, folks, I ordered up some rubber bushings and took everything apart yesterday. The eight bushings in the rear went right in, and I managed to get the two in the RH front in with some persuasion. The LH fronts, though, won't go in for love or money. Taking a look, the two bushings, combined, are far wider than the shoulders of the bolt that holds them in place. Is this normal? Tom

Yes, I should have followed up. I got the whole thing buttoned up the other day. A small amount of rubber-safe grease to lubricate the pin made things a whole lot easier.
FWIW, I didn't really need the special tool to hold the pin in place while tightening.
