Has anyone done this? ESM do a very reasonably priced kit for and and rear telescopic shock absorber upgrade and I was wondering if anyone had fitted it and how difficult the job is, as the kit is designed for Morris Minor. I'm having some leaky damper issues so before I pay out for those I wondered about the upgrade. Would love to know anyone's experience with it. My brother's 1.5 had a kit fitted but it had been done by a previous owner so he had no comparison and couldn't say how difficult the job was.

I don't think the damper does as much to improve ride/handling that we are led to believe? if this is your goal? My approach to an improved ride was; 1) lowering the MK 1 car to later MK height. Lowering block at rear, spline change at front 2) buy and install a wider road wheel 4.5" wide versus the OE 3" wide 3) #2 allows for a proper size radial tire to be installed. 4) anti roll bar up front all in all a mega improvement, I never changed the dampers. Let us know how you make out Bruce

For what it's worth I bough a Riley a couple of years ago that had the Minor telescopics fitted front and rear with an anti roll bar and minor van 4.5 inch wheels too. I know it's a personal thing and quite subjective but I sold the car on after about 15 months because I found the ride bouncy and unsettled. I've owned many standard Riley over the years and this one just never felt 'right' somehow.

Thanks for the replies for the moment I have replaced the leaking dampers with standard and will go anti roll bar route soon I think.
