A very attractive car - It looks in nice condition, but not over-restored. How do you find driving it? I had a 1937 Kestrel and the preselecta gearbox made it very easy in traffic. I would be less comfortable with a crash gearbox. Rob

Thanks Rob for the kind words. The car has never been restored, only few things here and there and only one engine reconstruction last year. Got the history of this car since new (only 3 owners). Driving it is a blast! the use of the crash gearbox is indeed challenging but very engaging too. I am sure the preselecta is fantastic and increase the experience too, specially during road trips Any pictures of it?

I've been told by a club member who has a 9 Monaco with two SUs like yours that the performance compared to the normally aspirated by a singledowndraught carb, makes a huge difference to performance.
Lovely car!

Thanks! Never tried a Nine with only one carb, but yes the difference should be noticeable.

Not really noticeable but I do wonder what the Downdraft carb comment means?
