Another request for help please. I cannot find a record of the original maufacturer's colour options for my 1964 Riley 1.5. The logbook just states ' blue/white ', although it looks more like green/ white to my untrained eye. I am trying to find paint to match my 1.5, so it seems logical to know the original colours. Any ideas and / or help in finding a paint supplier who could match my colours as near as possible would be much appreciated. Thank you. ( I shall try to upload a photograph in case anyone might recognise the colours - upload not guaranteed to work! ). Dave Dale.

Hi Dave - the colours of your car could be two options based on its year. It's most likely to be Florentine Blue (BU.7) and Old English White (WT.3) or there is a rarer option which has a blue/green tint that is called Aquamarine (BU.43) and Old English White. Any paint factor can match up and supply paint based on these paint codes but note that they will be listed under Rover colours, not Riley. I have attached photos of a car in each of these two options, hope this helps. Attachments:

Robert - Your colour swatches posting was very helpful. It prompted me to search the internet and I found another website in the same vein but which is a little more comprehensive. You, and anyone else trying to find manufacturers' colours , might be interested: www.morrisminorforum.com/article/bmc-bl-paint-codes-and-colors.67 ( you might have to copy/paste this into the browser if the link doesn't work ). Ozieagle - Thanks for that. my colours are there in your chart. Rileyrob - The pictures of the two sample cars are just what I needed to confirm the colour specifications of my car - especially so because, by an amazing coincidence, the lower picture is of my actual car! I can just make out the reg. No. - looks like DNL344B. The picture must have been taken before I bought the car in 2017 and, judging by the reasonable looking paint, probably a long time before 2017. The paint is now totally faded - not a shine in sight. Just to be sure, please confirm that it is the lower photograph that is the Aquamarine version. Thanks. I'll try again to upload a photograph of my car. If I can do it, you can see that the blue colour looks quite different with my camera. Your lower picture looks very like my car colour in reality. Hi Dave
Yes, the lower photo is of an Aquamarine car as far as I know, I have quite a few photos of your car which I could send to you if you're interested - best thing is to send me a Private Message (see top banner on this site) with your email address and I will forward them on to you.
Cheers Rob
