That is a nice looking car. Lots of 'extra' electrics thingamajigs Curious that a preproduction car would have a RB engine? There must be a story behind this B

as far as i know, the pre production vehicles had a fibre glass front end, as it was cheaper to do the moulds in fibreglass than to steel them in case the car never made full production.

A few other 'oddities' of this car. Not that any of these deter from a nice car. The front wing scripts are the later type, the boot lid wears the early type. The dual boot lid props and support panel is interesting. More complicated air cleaner support than the production ones. One Item I find very COOL is the air dam? or lip below the front valance? This looks so right. Good to see a very early car in such good nick! B

Also, the chrome strips each side of the radiator are the Mk111 type.

Also, the chrome strips each side of the radiator are the Mk111 type. Good eye Gordon. something didn't look right to me about the grille but I missed the obvious! Those seats look much more 'comfy' than my old worn out MK 1. I wonder what is 'hidden' below the plastic sandwich bag in the engine bay? Will you follow this auction? If so let us know the outcome. The car sold for £7100 today - not a bad price I thought.

Hello Rob, I agree that looked a nice car and if it goes down te road as well as it looks them a well bought car indeed.
I wonder what part of the country it ended up in? or maybe sent to the continent?
