Does look pretty tidy and in a very rare colour combination of Aquamarine/Old English White with the correct Chinese Green interior.

Chassis number is 11037, the last car built was chassis number 12184 so within the last 1000 or so cars made. Interesting that it seems to have a left hand wiper setup.

hmmm - I think a matching pair would be something of an extravagance! Doesn't look too bad though (although looks can deceive!)

certainly seems a decent car for not much cash, a guess would be put another 1K into it to get it road worthy, strip the brakes & rebuild them etc go through the fluids, wonder what the chrome button at the bottom under the wipers is for & the switches under dash ?

The chrome button is the standard original push button that operates the vacuum windscreen washers. The original vacuum units rarely still work these days so many people replace it with a visually similar button that is actually an electric switch to a washer pump in the engine bay.
Incidentally this is not the same colour as the car owned by hjmerryweather, that car is Island Green/Old English White (I have one myself) but in fairness Island Green and Aquamarine are very similar except Aquamarine has more of a bluish hue to it. There actually was a listed option when these cars were new to have an Aquamarine/Island Green two tone combination but after 50 years of owning these cars I have never seen one so clearly not a popular option with buyers, the colours would be far too similar I suspect.

i had no idea about that push button, i automatically assumed they had a electric pump (you live & learn) also i have never seen that style of washer bottle on an actual car at any shows ive been to, myself have a modernish plastic white thing ! im guessing before screenwash the majority of water bottles froze soilid then cracked so that why not many survive !!

I have attached a photo of my car which shows the original fitment Trico washer bottle arrangement. The glass bottles are very heavy and tough so I doubt they would crack but over time the seals in the vacuum unit fail with age (not always but mostly) and render the system unserviceable. These were actually fitted to many upmarket cars back in the day including Jaguars etc. There should be a pipe that goes across the top of the rocker cover from the curved pipe in the middle of the washer bottle lid to the outlet connection on the inlet manifold to draw pressure when the engine is running (not shown on my car as I hadn't connected it at the time the picture was taken). It was a fairly crude arrangement by modern standards but actually worked well and provided a steady stream of water to the washer jets once the button was released. ibb.co/C1K6QSJ

the '64 in old english white on same site appears to be a FAR better car ( although it was converted to LHD) and Id argue offers considerably better value for money in spite of being more than double the price..for starters, the inner wings appear to be patched along the upper edges in in a truly amateur manner on that aqua marine car ..which my experience suggests it was a rust bucket, and given the visible standard of repair's the rust will come back with vengence in the future... caveat emptor.. I would not want a car patched up in that manner for free.. plus I much prefer the MkI cars..less issues with water getting in the passenger area, commonly via the internal hinge holes ..the seats are much firmer and more durable on Mk1 cars, and I like the 2 tone look over the more plain Mk3 interiors.. someone mentioned a 5 main bearing engine.. never fitted by manufacturer.. whilst the 1500cc BMC B series was deemed obsolete and superceded in late '61 by the much stronger 1622 unit in all other BMC vahicles.. and the H4 carbs were also deemed obsolete on just about very other car that used SUs by 1960 ( the MGA Mk2 used them to end of production.. mid '62)..the Farina Riley and magnette got 'top of the line' SU HD 4 carbs on a bespoke manifold set up,in order to avoid the downside's of the H4s.(fuel leaks via shrunken cork seals and sticking choke due to similar issues) along with a 1622 engine upgrade for '62 model year.. straight 'bolt' in for the 1622cc engine and for the HD4 carb and manifold set up in the 1.5.. the Mk3 cars got a revised camshaft profile ( supposedly to reduce valve train noise) which reduced power output from the original 68 bhp down to approx 63 bhp.. and the tappet clatter never went away regardless.

The late RB engines did have the stronger 1622 crankshaft etc. To add to Rob comments many and I did fitted an electric windscreen wiper fluid pump motor and maintained the Trico bottle. A discreet installation with a SS marine grade pushbutton on the dash. I wired a fused and dedicated circuit. Bruce
