A little guidance please? I encountered a bit of bother when I removed the rear springs last week. The front bush assembly didn't cooperate for me. I had no problem to remove the pin (#18) etc. I made a tool to hold it, however when I wanted to remove the bolts/nuts, (#'s 23, 24, 25) securing the plate (#22) the nuts spun inside the bush box of the chassis. I did succeed to remove them, jamming them with a scewdriver, however with the bush leaving little space, there must an order of assembly/disassembly that I don't know about? When I re assemble this I am sure I will be forced to foul language etc. that I want to avoid. Any tricks you chaps have used? order of assembly I should know about? Thanks Bruce

Ummm ............. nobody has undertaken this bushes swap? and mentally 'fiddled' with these screws & nuts? I have done this previously, I just don't remember the bolts & nuts acting as they are. Perhaps the bolts are oriented as the schema? with nuts outside? Salut Bruce

I'm trying to think back to when I reassembled the rear springs - it's a year or more now, but I don't remember any particular problems with the securing plate, certainly not rotating captive nuts. I've dug out three photos -pre and post restoration, but not sure they show much. Good luck! Tony

Tony, You are the best. BTW nice end result of the undercarriage works. Bravo! Your photos show from the outboard side and the bolts nuts I ask about are on the inboard side. However you show exactly what I needed to know. I puzzled about which way the bolts/nuts are fitted. When I last assembled my one I inserted the bolts/nuts from the outside of the hanger, placing nuts inside. The factory schema I posted shows the nuts outside the hanger as do your photos. This way around, as shown, will remove the interference of the bolts/nuts to the bush I experienced at disassembly. An easy mistake to make I suppose. I now see the light! Thanks again Bruce

Good news, glad they turned out to be of some use. You can never take enough photos - however, they usually show everything in great detail, except the exact the bit you want!!
