It would be asking advice on removing the heater from a 1.5 but I cannot find ameans of starting the thread or am I just blind? A little background - I have just started to have my 1.5 revived after being stuck on the drive for the last two years following a visit to a large pot hole. The decision to start has been a long time coming because I did not really want to go down the spares/repair route. Anyway, I look forward to hearing from you. Best wishes, oakall2 Harry Emmerson

Disconnect control cables to heater valve and heater assembly remove heater trunking, under the dashboard disconnect demister pipes, back to engine compartment remove heater rubber hoses drain heater disconnect heater blower wires on top of the heater unit remove crosshead screws holding heater unit to bulkhead remove complete heater assembly. On reassembly you will need a new bulkhead sealing gasket the original gasket will disintegrate I think I modified one from a mg midget hope this helps.

Exactly as described above. I bought some foam playground tiles and cut a gasket from that material, as it was the best I could quickly come up with. It was no major challenge, but if a Spridget gasket is close, all the better!

I have just returned to the Forum. Thanks for the replies. As an aside,Riley is structurally 90% complete after the removal of the rot.
