Sometimes things happen that make you realise that owning a classic can be amazing. Its not always about fastest laps, cups and prizes - its often about the way it makes people feel ...
I took the car to the church fete today and as usual it was very busy and the car was well received (the only classic there!). Anyway I noticed that three people were spending a long time looking over the car and talking about it - so I went over to chat. Well it transpired that these three were siblings and their father had a 1.5 from new. They told me that for many years their annual holiday was taken in the 1.5 from The Midlands down to Cornwall and the three of them had to sit on the back seat all the way. They were really excited to see the car - and even more so when all three of them (all over 60!) piled onto the back seat and sat there giggling and chatting.
It made my day to see how happy they were just sitting there and talking about it. What a great way to prove that all those long evenings in the garage are worth it!
