Dear Sir or Madam
I don’t know whether you can help me. I’d love to trace a Riley owned by my father when I was a child. I have looked on the DVLA website and can see that it is still in existence although not currently taxed for on road use – it’s a 1950 black saloon with registration KOJ313.
I vividly remember the car and watching it pull away and go round the corner for the last time after my father sold it. That would probably have been in the mid 60’s, the Riley was replaced by an MG Magnet which sadly doesn’t appear to be on the road now. My Dad sadly passed away some years ago, he always maintained his cars and he would thrilled to know that after all these years it’s still in existence.
My reason for asking is that I have been married to a car enthusiast for many years now, we in fact have been Morgan owners for about 25 years. My husband’s interest in cars has to a lesser extent rubbed off on me, whenever we go to an event where there are classic cars or if I see a Riley or MG Magnet I always look to see whether they were the ones Dad owned. It would be lovely to know where the Riley is these days and even possibly see it again at some point in the future.
I just wondered if you knew of the car or whether one of your members owns it and you could put me in touch. Please feel free to pass on my E mail if you are able to trace the owner.
Thank you in anticipation
