Well we had our first track test day for a couple of years - with the idea that we might do some racing next year.
We got in 30 laps of trouble free running -lapping about 0.5 to 1 second quicker than before! However this proved too much and eventually we ran the big end bearings .. Oh ******!
Despite this we were pretty pleased - the car went really well, handling predictable, new brakes super but tyres nearing the end of their life! We were the oldest there by 40 years (the car not us), yet still humbled a few of the hot hatch track day cars.
Will let you know how things progress.

There is a 1960 1.5 entered in the Hero's Rally of Tests stopping off at Shelsley Walsh Hillclimb next Saturday It is crewed by Guy Symons and David Watson, are they RMC members ?

Roger This is great, nice to read that Noddy is stretching the proverbial legs. Bugg*r about the bottom end, oil pump failure perhaps. I was leaning in my chair at each corner while watching the video, I love it. Oh and my speedometer needle has never been pointing to 6 o'clock in its life!
Bravo!

Graham - the secret to getting the speedo to 6 o'clock is 13 inch wheels and a 3.9 diff! (and approx. 120bhp!)
Engine is to be stripped next week - so will let you know the verdict on the failure.
