Hello all. Today when I was driving through town it got increasingly difficult to select a gear.It got to the point where I could only select 3rd gear.I got a family friend to tow my to their house.
With the engine off I can select any gear without issue and start the engine and continue in that gear.
Clutch pedal and hydrolics seem fine so we could only assume it's a clutch plate issue as when in gear everthing works as it should.
Any advice / things to check / watch out for? Is it just clutch plates I need or could there be a flywheel issue too?
Car is a 1969 1300 Riley Kestrel.

Happy New Year all!
The Kestrel is fixed and went to Swansea and back over Christmas without any issues - 200 mile round trip. Turns out the Clutch Master Cylinder was leaking and then air was getting into the system. Purchased a Master Cylinder rebuild kit from Somerford Mini Spares (http://www.somerford-mini.co.uk/)
So gearbox is fine!
