Hello all.
I'm on holiday in North Wales and having a few problems. On the way here the gearbox refused to let me select a great and it turned out the clutch reservoir was empty. I filled it and got going again. Checked the fluid since and it hasn't gone down again so it may have been a gradual loss. No signs of leaking. Car is driving fine except first is v difficult to get in to with engine running. Is the any bleeding or adjustment i could do to improve things?

Have you checked the slave cylinder (attached to the gearbox) - that may be leaking! Let us know how you get on. Roger

Sounds like you've got air in the system I would try bleeding it yourself or try & find a friendly garage. Enjoy Wales

Any idea where the bleed nipple is. Woukd it be on the slave cylinder?
I presume access to the slave is from under the car ?

Yep - access to the slave cylinder is under the car - The bleed nipple is obvious once you are down there! Roger

Simon
When you retire for the night, rig up a stick between the clutch & the seat or whatever such that it stays depressed over night. Remove the cap on the master cylinder as well. If you are lucky, the air will bleed it self out the master cylinder.
If not this is a 1/2 hour job for a 'garagiste'.
Bonne vacances!

Thanks for all the help everyone. We are back now, having had to top the fluid up twice. I guess there must be a bit of a leak at the slave, which I've looked at before so I'll add it to my to-do list for another day. I didn't bleed it in the end as it seemed to largely sort itself out.
Otherwise Biggles performed admirably, though I have seen a lot of petrol stations. We managed just over 800 miles and lots of hills.
