The original speedometer ceased to indicate any speed but the trip meter worked. We fitted a replacement which worked in that it indicated speeds but did not react very quickly to any changes. The trip meter worked but did not reset. . A new cable had been fitted fitted after the original instrument failed. Can anyone recommend a re-furbisher of these instruments that is not too expensive ? Look forward to any replies. Harry

I used Speedograph Richfield of Nottingham about Two years ago, they were efficient stuck to their fixed price quote which is given after stripping (in my case about £70 + vat) and was recalibrated as well. They have an on line form to print off and fill in to send with the instument then they get back in touch with the quote. The speedo is now extreemly accurate and quiet. Hope this is of some help? NP

Thanks for the reply. I will investigate the site. It does not appear to be as expensive as I thought it might be. Harry

Ive added this to your post hope you don't mind. My speedo is also not working. Though the speedo and the cable are fine, i've had it working with a drill on the gearbox end of the cable and it spins up fine and the needle registers. By the way my drill can travel at 30mph :-) I am assuming the problem is with the speedo drive from the gear box which I have yet to take out and check.
Firstly is there a best way to remove the drive gear to check it.
Secondly does anyone have another one that I can buy
regards Richard
