1962 Riley One Point Five 336 YBH Historic Rally/Competition Car with great provenance.

336 YBH was registered 3rd July 1962 and has genuine 69,000 miles. Built and developed over many years and used on many Historic Road events. This is one of the best Riley 1.5’s around. This car is low mileage and in excellent condition.
In 1996 the car had one lady owner and 30K miles when Ex-RAF engineer Cliff Doe fully restored and built what is on offer today.

The car passed to Michael McNulty, before my ownership, who continued its completion success in a number of rally and hill climb events.
The car still retains its original Old English White exterior and Cardinal Red interior except for the comfortable bucket Long Distance Rally Seats (originals are included and in good condition). Willans 3 ins 4 Point quick release harnesses with shoulder pads, Front heavy duty sump guard extending over the gearbox with towing eye. Rear tank guard, Rear towing eye.
Rebuilt 1489cc engine, BMC Special Tuning high compression pistons, Twin SU carbs. Lightened and balanced crank, Peter Burgess big valve ported and polished head, hardened valve seats for unleaded fuel, Piper 285 Solid billet camshaft, custom built skidded Maniflow exhaust and 4 pipe manifold, Remote Filter King Fuel Filter. K and N air filters.
Gearbox uprated with MGB layshaft, 4.2:1 Quaife Torque Biasing Limited Slip Diff, Uprated Spridget hardened halfshafts with 23 splines [std 10], Propshaft GKN refurbished and balanced with heavy duty UJ’s.
Superflex, poly suspension bushes all round, Koni period designed telescopic damper brackets fitted (original designs and documentation provided) all round with Spax adjustable shock absorbers. Front Armstrong shock absorbers drained and retained for suspension. Negative camber spacers, Anti Roll bar, Front Disc brakes with green stuff pads, Rear brakes with Mintex competition linings. Silicon brake fluid, Copper brake pipes, Aeroquip brake hoses.
Pair of front Cibie reproduction Spot lamps with relays on modified radiator brackets (designs included), rear boot mounted 576 Lucas reversing lamp, Retrotrip Mechanical tripmeter, twin stopwatch brackets with pea lights, Avanti flexible maplight, overhead fluorescent strip light, halogen headlights, Poti socket, Powerlite Positive Earth Dynalite Alternator conversion [ 40 amps] , [original dynamo with car] Car compass, Mota Lita steering wheel. Standard instruments including rev counter. Pencil holders, Map pockets on both front doors, Fire Extinguisher, Battery Cut Off.
Fitted with newly refurbished “very rare” 4 ½ J Dunlop LP936 wheels and brand new Dunlop 165/70x14 Tyres. Includes all necessary safety equipment including bolt-in half roll cage (easily removed), fire extinguisher and cut-off switches.
New interior carpets professionally fitted [2010]and box sections/sills waxoyled. New door seals, New Pilkington laminated windscreen, Rolling road tuned by maestro Peter Baldwin November 2011.
Recently overhauled the cooling system with new 3xcore original radiator, silicon water hoses, lightweight aluminium water pump. Also just undergone light restoration of the lower rear quarter panels and rear wheel arches with full lower half repaint.
The car is fully documented with tonnes and tonnes of paper work which includes a photo album of the initial and recent restoration. Documentation recalls once having FIA logbook and VIF Papers from this specification so should be easy to obtain.
