I have owned my RMC Roadster since 1971. She came without a Drivers Handbook.
I know such a publication exists; I borrowed one many years ago and photocopied the pages which were different to the Saloon handbook, a copy of which I do have.
Does anyone out there have a copy of the Roadster Drivers Handbook which they no longer need? I appreciate that there will not be a great number of them around, and I expect one to cost a reasonable amount. I can, however, assure a loving and careful home.

I am pretty sure there was never a totally separate handbook for the Roadster, but as you say, there was a supplement covering the Roadster in some copies, presumably those printed when the Roadster was being sold. I did have a Roadster for several years, so I will look through my selection of handbooks and let you know if I have one tucked away. Rob

Thanks Rob, that would be most appreciated.
I have it in the depths of my addled brain that there was a separate Roadster Handbook. I say this because I remember, shortly after I purchased DAG, I met a lady who owned an RMC at an area meeting (it would have been around the Maidenhead area somewhere). She also had a handbook which she lent to me. I photocopied the pages which were different and stuck (yes! stuck!) them into the saloon handbook which had come with DAG. Needless to say, after more than 50 years of ownership, the photocopies have faded into oblivion, luckily the glue gave out as well and the spare pages have been consigned to the bin.
At least I don't NEED a handbook to tell me how the car works, it would be nice to have one none the less.

Roger, I have found a handbook which covers the Roadster in addition to the saloon, albeit not in great detail. It shows the column gear change, the selector mechanism on the gearbox, the dashboard and the hood arrangement, effectively the main areas where the Roadster is different from the saloon (except the body panels). There are also a few references to the Drophead. It is the cleanest handbook I have seen and has clearly never been used. I can only assume it is original and I must have had it over 30 years. I will email separately you with a few photos. Rob

From the several copies/versions of the RM Handbooks I have the Roadster specific pages are only within the "Export Edition". You can download a copy from the Files section of my Facebook page "The Riley RM series 1945-57" or I can email a copy if you wish to contact me directly.
